How to Prepare an Industrial Automation RFQ That Gets a Faster Quote
A practical checklist for sending PLC, DCS, drive, HMI, and sensor part requests with fewer delays and fewer clarification emails.
Why RFQ quality matters
Industrial automation spare parts are often identified by long model numbers, revision codes, firmware families, and system context. A clear RFQ helps the sourcing team confirm the exact requirement faster and reduces the risk of quoting a similar but incompatible item.
Send these details first
- Exact part number, including suffixes and revision markings.
- Brand, product family, and machine or control-system context if known.
- Required quantity and destination country.
- Photos of labels, terminals, connectors, and packaging if available.
- Preferred condition: new, surplus, refurbished, or tested used.
For urgent downtime cases
If the line is stopped, say so clearly. Include the target delivery window and whether a compatible replacement is acceptable. This allows ZYPLC to check realistic options instead of only searching for one exact configuration.
